Content Marketing Strategy has created almost 66 billion in revenue and is expected to double by 2026 according to Statista. So What is content marketing strategy?

Content Marketing Strategy is: Creating quality, focused, relevant content distributed through different channels to educate attract and retain a defined potential audience. Establishing the company as a subject matter expert. Which in turn drives profitable customer actions.

Educating potential customers helps them make informed buying decisions. In the process, you are demonstrating your authority on the subject. You become the expert and your potential consumers look to you for the answers.


EXAMPLES:

Different examples of channels for content marketing strategy are Social Media, Blogs, and Podcasts.


Hubspot Academy:

A great example of this is Hubspot Academy.

Hubspot Academy offers training in digital marketing, content creation, SEO, and other marketing channels.

Hubspot is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform that makes it easy for your entire company to work together - from marketing to sales; to customer service.


Hubspot uses its academy to train marketers, who are more likely to use their services as a CRM. By educating potential clients: they create value for themselves as an expert on the subject, which helps create an incentive for their students to use their services.


Char-Broil:

Another great example of a Content Marketing Strategy is Char-Broil. I remember a guest speaker in my MBA program; a Vice President of char-Broil. Who talked about how the company realized customers were setting up their grills wrong. To fix this, they designed certain parts to fit together only in a certain way. Unfortunately, it still didn’t entirely fix the problem. People were having to call the helpline constantly. So they decided to start a Youtube channel with the intent to show people how to put their grill together. Which also had recipes and guest chefs showing how to cook on the grill.


This is a great example of Content marketing strategy, they used content (Youtube) to show they were experts in the field and were able to educate them on different things they could use their grill for.
